As you cancel streaming services, here is a casual reminder that only 16% of Americans read for pleasure anymore, and your local library has hundreds or thousands of books you haven't read.

They would love to see you stop by and renew your library card.

Not gonna lie, I struggled when I learned I could never have kids over a decade ago.

But now I'm seeing that issue as a good thing because I wouldn't even know how to handle this kinda stuff as a parent.

It's a little emotionally overwhelming when you, who is the normal caregiver & overall independent person, are put in a situation where you need to be taken care of and your fiance goes above & beyond what you expected.

Biggest takeaway from Week 1 of teaching this year: how absolutely divorced the conversation around education is from what actually takes place in the classroom.

Way too many folks not in the classroom talking loudly about a classroom that they no longer (or never did) understand...

Good morning, beloved.

Empathy is the antidote to a hardened heart.

Today is a great day to overcome evil with good.

WHAT TO DO IF ICE COMES KNOCKING
1) REMEMBER YOU HAVE RIGHTS
2) ICE CAN AND WILL LIE TO YOU
3) THEY CANNOT ENTER WITHOUT A WARRANT SIGNED BY A JUDGE
4) THEY WILL USUALLY NOT HAVE A WARRANT SIGNED BY A JUDGE AND WILL OFTEN LIE AND SAY THEY HAVE ONE. ASK TO SEE IT BEFORE THEY ENTER

Day one of a new job done.

People are nice and culture seems to value autonomy and collaboration.

But the hour commute one-way is brutal.....

Today's a day to enjoy some good food and time with people you love who love you back.

But this is not a day to celebrate a country whose leaders danced while passing legislation to effectively kill its citizens while enriching those who are already rich.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

I lost my Nana twice: once to Alzheimer's, then when she passed away.

She spent 4 years in a wonderful nursing home that had the knowledge & resources to care for her as the disease progressed. This was only possible due to Medicaid.

I don't have words for my horror at what is to come.

Me too
So beyond disheartening that adults in leadership in the country don't care if people die.

I've lost hope. These people are beyond redeemable.
