What sound engineering wizardry goes into making the NPR Tiny Desk concerts sound so good? Seriously. So crisp and clear. I can pick out individual instruments and voices. It's magical.

I feel like games have reached their Disney phase. Trying to recapture the magic of the original releases by dropping "OG" patches as game modes without recognition that the real magic in those moments was the community, players, and sense of discovery.

This whole thread is insane. Absolutely incredible.
Funny story: Journey had no automatic shadows. I painted them all by hand. The shadow texture was not hi-res. To get the iconic sunset columns to cast sharp shadows, I made sure that they aligned with the pixel grid of the texture. Here you can see the shadow map I painted.
