A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

Never forget that Norman Rockwell, debatably the most famous American artist to ever put brush to canvas, was not afraid to show the ugliness along with the good. Having his work/reputation sanitized and trimmed into marketable nostalgia is about American as it gets.

Among my favourite Hookland dialect words is widkerwep - the sadness one feels at coming to the end of wood and seeing the last section of a path leading out of it. Hooklanders also use widkerwep to mean the taking of a needed action that brings a sense of loss. - #EmilyCBanting, 1982 #WOTD

Showed this to my student who learns Ukrainian

10 seconds of the sheer horror in their eyes when presented with the idea to work with each noun in each case😈

Never had much motivation or enjoyment from living.

Now I exist in a bit disabled body and..

I was active, cool, charming, promoting my career, writing a blog and stories just for fun when

When I had a partner. I thought they were the one and by losing them I lost that additional joy of sharing

These repairs take time and money and would not be possible without your support. Total value of these three services is around ~12,000

Thank you.

Half asleep reflection:

How interesting and different communities are.

Ukrainians stopped getting birthday gifts, dor example, because it's a part of etiquette now to ask for gifts to be sent to organisations supporting our warriors, veterans, etc.

Opening tip jar for yourself is frowned upon./1

We saw this already and here we go again
Just spoke with my CDC sources. They were in tears.

Budgets cut. RFJK has ordered them not to publicize bird flu symptoms in exposed workers. Not to test them. Not to speak.

They know people are getting sick. And they’re being forced to stay silent.

This is not just a cover-up. It's cruelty.

Today I taught resilience in society, eugenics and its rise with the bill in UK, with coercion of people like me, like us, to give up instead of giving us a hand and hope. I spoke of news and of travels.

We can't do "normal". Yes, going to doctor+ supermarket run+teaching 3 sessions IS too much.

In my head, I'm still perfectly capable to hike 12 km a day like I used too, with heavy 90l backpack...
