Really enjoyed this explanation of how rules light rpgs can provide more fertile ground for growing characters fertilized through player imagination instead of skill trees and googling “best bard build”
Latest Rulings, not Rules - in which I express my surprise that the characters have been *more* memorable since switching to Shadowdark than in a game more focused on character arcs.
Fewer Rules Have Made Better Characters
In which I try to figure out why the characters have been more memorable in a deadlier, rules-light campaign than one where the characters aren't supposed to die.
