Music, nature, Spurs, film...
A perfect balance between his pastoral, more lyrical style and the more dramatic and violent music. Great piece.
In 1930, RVW composed Job: A Masque for Dancing, a one-act ballet score inspired by William Blake's illustrations of the biblical Book of Job.
The score is a significant work featuring his characteristic pastoral melodies alongside passages anticipating his later style.

How many Republicans have spoken out against Trump's threat to suspend habeas corpus?

How many Republicans have spoken out against Trump's "gift" from Qatar?

How many Republicans--and other Republican-adjacent elites--put the Constitution above Trump?

The sad answer: vanishingly close to zero.

Going back to first principles and to the recording I heard as a kid in the early 1970s. Also the first solo violinist I heard in concert, playing Brahms at the RFO with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra & Walter Weller.

Reporter: The president fired the Librarian of Congress. Why?

Leavitt: There were quite concerning things she had done at the Library of Congress in the pursuit of DEI and putting inappropriate books in the library for children.

I'm not sure listening to Mahler 's 6th is the ideal motivational tool before Tottenham play their Europa League semi-final return fixture tonight v Bodo/Glimt, to be played in the Arctic Circle. But there you go. Too late now! 😬😥😉

If we were a more serious country, where the rule of law & the constitution actually mattered, these people would already have been arrested & marched out of every federal building they tried to enter in handcuffs.
once again my full throated support and endorsement for any democrat who pursues criminal legal accountability for the DOGE boys. and i’d be fine with shipping these guys to the Hague

Do not let Trump gaslight you into believing he has a mandate or is all powerful.

Most Americans don't support his cruel agenda.

His approval ratings are in the gutter.

Individuals and institutions are fighting back in courts and winning.

Keep up the fight.

A couple of classic recordings today. And some reading up for Simon Boccanegra next Saturday. My first trip ever to Italy last week, via Genoa. And we 'll be back there again with Simon Boccanegra. Funny how these things go.

I've just been told by someone who obviously thinks he knows that Mahler 's 8th is by far his best work. And to prove it, Mahler said so himself. As Mr Hamilton said in 'Waldorf Salad ' , " What a bunch of crap!" Not the 8th , but the attitude. No 8 is the most divisive of the cycle IMO. BTW, 3 !!!
