Folks can we help Natee please? I don't have anything suitable but some one must. They are a superb artist! #Birds #UKbirding
If anyone has good photographs of European goldfinches that they're happy for me to use as painting references, I'd be so grateful. Thank you. 💛

Please share among birders, if you would! 🙏🪶

6 hours in the Celtic sea on a pelagic birding trip today.
Some great birds and some good laughs.
This raft of Great Shearwater calling to each other was a surprise.

Brilliant artwork and evocative of the way I saw the bird
Black-winged kite, Hickling. Second record in 2 years-?returning bird?

Nice early outing to Pennington Flash this morning where the drake Lesser Scaup was very obliging, showing well close to the shore and car park.
Failed miserably with the phone scoping though 🤦🏼‍♂️

‘twas a busy day volunteering at my local RSPB reserve
Mediterranean Gulls had chicks, as did most of the Black-headed Gulls, waders & ducks.
We await the appearance of the Spoonbill fledglings (hopefully) and the Sand Martin fledglings.
Bird of the day ?
Bee Orchid (I know but it’s fab)

Just back from a smashing birdy morning near Daresbury (Cheshire)
The main attraction was this smart Woodchat Shrike - perhaps the first one I have seen in Cheshire.
Lots of other birds about and a surprisingly diverse range of flowers on the tow path of the Bridgewater Canal.

Update! A great friend is selling these @SwarovskiOptik 12x42 binoculars. They are boxed & in absolutely mint condition. He would like £1,850 but sensible offers considered. Please DM me if you would like them many thanks. #birding #birds #binoculars

One of those days when you wish you could paint - top class art from Ray @rayscally.bsky.social
PIED FLYCATCHER - Watercolour. One of my favourite birds and pleased to say I have a few breeding areas close to my house in Cheshire & Derbyshire so great to see annually. A lot of birds now back on the breeding grounds and paired up. This illustration will be published next year. #ukbirding #birds

Post volunteering “twitch” to Kelsall (Cheshire) to see a Stone Curlew. Haven’t seen one in Cheshire and neither have the other birders I know. Very distant and awkward in the heat haze. Pictured with my iPhone through my ‘scope.

Took two of the grandkids to RSPB Conwy today. A bit cool and blowy and drizzly, but a good time had by all.
