Last night was pure magic. Talking to Disney animation legends Ron Clements and John Musker about the making of THE LITTLE MERMAID was a delight. These artists made several movies that mean so much to me. Thank you to @egyptianla.bsky.social and @lafilmcritics.bsky.social for making it happen!

Shirley Clarke's great Portrait of Jason, at the Paris Theatre at 3:15pm: it's one of the few movies where seeing it in the theatre matters, because it puts the images—more recessive at home—in balance with the voice; word x2:

In this 1967 documentary about a self-described “hustler,” Shirley Clarke transformed the very notion of personal filmmaking.

As someone who lives for a transcendent combo of imagery and music in cinema, David Lynch was my North Star. RIP to an unmatchable genius.

Very excited.

I’ve been in line to get in for two minutes and already bumped into two homosexuals from Los Angeles. Is this the Christmas magic?

Your fave Christmas movie has an angel coming to Earth to show a guy how bad the world would be without him; my fave has angel Cary Grant coming to Earth to make a cuckold out of a clergyman. We are not the same.
