In the excitement of seeing #saintsfc mount a winning second-half comeback last night, I missed that Eastleigh managed the same, albeit a goal less, away to Solihull. What a night for the SO postcode havers.

If your review average is a 7 because everybody gave you a 7, that's one thing. If your average is a 7 because it's half 10s and half 4s, that is how you know it's The Good Stuff

Hearing Foals' 'Cassius' really does snap me back to a place and time. The place being my office, the time being when that band was in town seeing various interested record labels. Saw that band a lot early doors. Happy it worked out for them - and how I wish my body still felt like it did at 27.

Wrote an 'ultimate guide' to the game for Retro Gamer a couple of years ago. But even with that, the lock-on piece, a Vice video and so many more pieces behind me, I always think of new things to write about Snatcher. A book! One day.

Anyway. Play it. It's weird and janky and you'll go around in circles sometimes until you knock the same door four times and now something happens. It casts you as a deeply flawed jerk and he undertakes his mission in a deeply flawed manner. It's funny and warm and gross. It feels like nothing else.

Iirc the brother of a classmate wanted 35 quid for it. I passed - that was a lot for me, for a game, in the mid-90s. I own a few copies of it now, across various platforms, but not an original, legit Mega-CD one. Thankfully, life finds a way, cos I may love the game but I'll never pay these prices.
February 10, 2026 at 7:23 AM
Snatcher has many problems. But it's completely fascinating. One of those games that, from the first time I saw screens in Sega Power, I was: yes, this is my game. Didn't have a Mega-CD at the time, quickly acquired one and borrowed a copy of the game a few times before declining to buy it. Uh.
February 10, 2026 at 7:20 AM
The game. A while back I wrote a lot of words about its setting for a future issue of lock-on so, maybe, that'll come out in, like, 2028? In time for the game's 40th anniversary.

Also, someone should let me write the book on this one. For the audience of eight folks who'd buy it. Go on.

Yeah there was (is) a red cassette player Transformer, called Blaster. Like Soundwave, the original toy mould has been reissued several times, see attached for the latest one.
