Waking up to hearing this be both-sided on the radio this morning sure was a disappointed/not surprised moment for our times.
Ratcliffe is, quite obviously, factually, morally & intellectually wrong about immigration. But his racist comments will be 'both-sided' everywhere because people who simply don't like seeing non-white faces aren't ashamed to say so anymore.

IDK what high school is, still, in relation to the UK system, despite all the movies. But Colin Firth of many movies fame went to my sixth form, *several* years before I was there.

Jonathan Ross off the telly attended the university that I, much later, taught at.
Who's the most famous alum of your high school?

I'll go first: David Draiman of Disturbed
guys i just found out i went to the same high school as howard lutnick. please respect my privacy at this time.

In the excitement of seeing #saintsfc mount a winning second-half comeback last night, I missed that Eastleigh managed the same, albeit a goal less, away to Solihull. What a night for the SO postcode havers.

If your review average is a 7 because everybody gave you a 7, that's one thing. If your average is a 7 because it's half 10s and half 4s, that is how you know it's The Good Stuff

Hearing Foals' 'Cassius' really does snap me back to a place and time. The place being my office, the time being when that band was in town seeing various interested record labels. Saw that band a lot early doors. Happy it worked out for them - and how I wish my body still felt like it did at 27.

The game. A while back I wrote a lot of words about its setting for a future issue of lock-on so, maybe, that'll come out in, like, 2028? In time for the game's 40th anniversary.

Also, someone should let me write the book on this one. For the audience of eight folks who'd buy it. Go on.

With the new SS86 Soundwave in the post, the #deskbot of the day has been the very classy Core version of the same cassette recorder bastard. Just a classic design. It so rarely misses.

A show I guess I booked, 16(?) years ago.

@petefrasermusic.bsky.social I know we remember the Rolo/Manatees gig, but this one? I assume it happened but my memory is blank.

Any recollection @andrewhungmusic.bsky.social ?

This isn't new news, so believe me when I say I sigh every time I see a peer on here start using this platform. (I know some of you don't, and some of you have moved when you found out, and you're the good eggs.)

Ten years ago today, I held my first book for the first time. A great feeling.

Had two books out in 2016.

One in 2019.

Two in 2024.

One in 2026?
