Give a man a fish and you'll feed him for a day.

Give a man a fish-eye lens and he'll make three dozen music videos in the 1990s.

Just finished a fourth proofing round on Aliens: The Video Games. I'm super proud of it, and really hope folks enjoy it as much as I did writing it.

That's out next year. If you fancied supporting my work this year, please consider Retro Gaming as a Christmas gift. Your purchases pay me pennies! TY

Not watching that Alexa gaming ad and no amount of your reposting is gonna make... oh, go on then.

Bloody hell.

Was listening to a YT video about the PS2, but the presenter just called the Panasonic Q one of the worst-looking consoles of all time.

On a related PS2 budget game tip... Super Bust-a-Move is another £1 Cex special, and it's fine, obviously, because it's Puzzle Bobble. But just when you thought that cover couldn't do you more damage, you see the spine...

Probably the best quid I've spent in Cex. #randomgamesaturday

A very amusing comment in a little bbc video on Instagram, about some pub quiz cheaters. 90s hip-hop - who else but the middle-aged is more ideally placed to get questions on that right?

So it's the Metroid Prime 4 and Poochie Show, then. That's what you're telling me.

Something that pops into my head, every few days:

Are there fewer funny people in the world, now, than say, the 90s?

Probably not. But I'm sure, in the UK at least, you'd see more People On The Telly who were just naturally funny people. Like Rik Mayall. America wise, Robin Williams. Those sorts.

✨ Gaming media callout ✨

I’m on the look out for US folks who are actively covering Black Friday / Holiday Gift Guides, as I have some cool deals I can share.

Is this you? Let me know! And what cool things you ask? See below. 👇🏼

Sorry, I suppose this is a bit of a dunk, but it's also illustrative of the importance of checking your work before publishing, or having a second set of eyes on there. See if you can spot the mistake... that runs through the entire article.

More Alien: Earth was always going to happen. Did season one land all of its creative leaps? Nowhere close. Was it fun? Totally. Did loads of folk watch it? They did. Haters will do their thing, but if Alien to you exclusively means spooky spaceships, you've plenty of other material to chew on.
