There are many problems with using the umbrella term Artificial Intelligence, but one I fear the most is the halo effect.
I'm afraid people will interpret "AI will identify your age" as "your friendly neighbor ChatGPT, who you already trust, will discretely infer your age".

The year is 2025. I right click on an AI-generated comment on my YouTube video to delete it, only the "Remove" button has been shifted down to make way for a button that generates video ideas based on the AI-generated comment.

In my on-going saga to migrate my Vigilante Game Framework to SFML 3.0 I encountered a problem.
I used a library called Candle (written by @miguelmjdev.bsky.social) for 2D lighting. However, it was built for SFML 2.5.1 and never updated.

I don't 'refuse to use' AI, I just don't use AI; in the same way that I don't shoplift, or plagiarise other people's books - it requires no effort of will, it's just not something I would think of doing

I've used #LaTeX for years to make lecture notes, software manuals and even a textbook. I've learnt and forgotten Tikz several times now. I switched to LuaLaTeX to start integrating scripts into my document generation pipelines.
But, I'm one week into #Typst and I already wish it was the standard.

I find interesting the gesture we see in some works to represent extreme hatred or evil, of biting the enemy at the moment of one's own death and even after it.
