The price of eggs in the US is spiking, mostly due to #H5N1 bird flu. Solving the problem requires urgent, important communications from the CDC & FDA* and rapid development of research by the NIH**

* Currently paused by Executive Order
** Grant reviews now all canceled

Egg prices are soaring again. Here’s why and what to expect
Bird flu has killed millions of hens in recent weeks, shrinking the supply of eggs and hiking up prices at grocery stores.

Curious what everyone thinks is the best way to have a positive or any impact on the country, during the first 30 days of the new administration.

Same! Bring back the good stuff!
I don't want my fridge to have a camera or Wi-Fi. I don't want my dishwasher to be smart. I don't want my washing machine to text me.

In fact, I kinda miss knobs and dials and knowing big appliances would last 20 years and could still be repaired.

For Silicon Valley, January 20, 2025 may be the Day of Jubilee, when a nation that worships wealth and technology turns Big Tech loose to run an uncontrolled experiment on the entire population with AI and crypto.

To paraphrase Bette Davis: Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.

After I moved to Canada a couple of years ago I realized that I was no longer constantly running a massive stress routine in the background of my mind worrying about health care and guns. It was weirdly noticeable only when it stopped.

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record.

They run them bc people react to them the most.

If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change.

It’s not easy and takes constant practice!

The Tariff Act of 1930 was designed for protectionist trade. It imposed high tariffs on over 20,000 imported goods which led to retaliatory tariffs from other countries.

Why am I telling you this?

In case you're ever asked "what were the key contributors to the Great Depression?"

This Inuit community is having to move all because of the green energy/climate change hoax. It is a very, very elaborate hoax indeed! Soros had the permafrost melted, I tell you!

I don’t know who needs to hear this but you are on this earth for a reason. It may be you are someone’s best friend, it may be you are the caretaker to a hurt animal, it may be you smiled to someone on the bus & so they made it through the day. But you are needed. Thank you for existing.
