Brunch in the greenhouse with Gwen- Strawberry, blueberry, oatmeal smoothie with flax and chia topped with microgreens and meal worms. When I added Gwen to my flock I didn’t know she had been debeaked- a cruel practice making it hard for her to eat & clean her feathers like. So she gets some TLC.

Occasionally my pets become the subject of my sketches. This is Wally. He is 17 and has gotten me through so much. I found out recently that our days together are very numbered. He sat with me as I painted this.

Some of my more recent work has touched on the fragility of memories and loss of generations of experiences. For this series I have been working with found photo slides taken by my grandfather that had been destroyed from water damage.
