I wrote about John Taylor and ethnographies of paper. It's out online today, prior to publication in *Critical Quarterly*.

Thanks to @georginaemw.bsky.social and co for kicking off this train of thought with a wonderful conference, and giving it a home.

Does anyone have access to the Dictionary of American Regional English (DARE) and have time to look something up and perhaps photograph the entry for me?

Reposting this would be helpful!

it's proofs day 😍 Introducing Catherine Sanger. This is another woman publisher that I found after an editor assumed traces of her labor in the English Short Title Catalogue were a typo. A [sic] was put next to her initial, and I spent weeks combing through Ancestry to figure out who she is.

On Monday our instagram account was hacked and then deleted. We received a ransom note to recover it; obviously we couldn't and wouldn't pay, and therefore lost thousands of followers. Meta support was useless. But we're BACK with a new account: @littletollerbooks. Can you follow us there and share?

Kseniia Petrova, a Russian scientist at Harvard Medical School, was detained at Logan Airport after returning from France and sent to an ICE detention in Louisiana, The Insider reports.

A big critic of Putin and the war in Ukraine, she may now be deported to Russia.

In a nutshell:

— The Espionage Act contains a provision that criminalizes the disclosure of national secrets through gross negligence.

— The law does not require that the info be classified, it refers simply to national defense information.

Arrest them. Immediately.

Dr. Oz, nominated by Trump to head up Medicare and Medicaid, is all in on the plan to take nurses out of nursing homes.
WYDEN: Do you believe in a nursing home there should be a registered nurse available around the clock?

DR OZ: As you know, that's a complicated question

WYDEN: No it's not. We need a nurse in a nursing home. Not too complicated.
