Proud to be a Rutgers faculty member today.
This exciting resolution from Rutgers University Senate is exactly the kind of model I think higher ed needs: a mutual defense pact of, in this case, Big 10 schools. They call for member institutions to create a joint defense fund and make resources available to any member institution under attack.

Louder so the people in the back can hear you!!!! This is not about our safety as Jews. During Trump 1, Jews stood side by side with immigrants. The current administration is using our safety as an excuse to create a wedge between us now.
The administration is using Jews as cover to push policy that will ultimately hurt people.

There have been repugnant and sometimes antisemitic protests on college campuses that must be addressed.

But using them as an excuse to cut $400 million from Columbia — funds that enrich and sometimes save the lives of thousands — doesn’t make Jewish students or Jews safer.

Ok he keeps mispronouncing names and not even asking if he’s pronouncing them correctly (as opposed to Sen Durbin who is asking). It’s such an obnoxious antisemitic micro aggression to just bulldoze over peoples names. Signed, a person whose name has been mispronounced for decades.
US Senate committee on the judiciary is holding another hearing on antisemitism and the chair of the committee (Sen Chuck Grassley) just repeatedly mispronounced “Elie Wiesel.” If that’s not symbolism for something…
