"During the broadcast, a commentator referred to the Yonsei team by saying its players 'seemed like they did not receive love from their parents.'"

Interesting to consider what does and does not merit an apology during an event like this.

Always happy to see academic journals on Bluesky, but am not familiar with what journal editors and staff get out of this website and social media in general, and am not sure if Bluesky is doing a good job of meeting journals' needs at the moment. Seems like a good time to think about these issues!
It is unclear to me how much traction Glossa: a journal of general linguistics is getting on BlueSky. I am thinking of switching communication about new papers to LinkedIn, which gives better insight into the # of views garnered. Give us a like if you want Glossa to stay on the Blue side of things.

Some interesting icons here indicating various prohibitions in this subway station in Germany, part of the public transportation #LinguisticLandscape!
Always interesting to think about why these signs might be used over others with more text . . . .

Up now at @lareviewofbooks.bsky.social, I wrote about one of my favorite trilogies, Jeffrey Ford’s The Well-Built City, and what it has to say about living in a society in thrall, the fascist mindset, and the daily work of staying alive.

Very interesting to see global coverage of the renewal of Korea's mining industry, especially when so much of the narrative around Korea involves Samsung, smartphones, various types of chips, and a larger story of a country with few natural resources . . .

Would be a good publishing opportunity for those looking at Korean students learning Nordic languages in South Korea or Korean students or teachers involved in language learning or teaching in the Nordic region.
Nordic Journal of Linguistics is inviting contributions on L3/Ln acquisition in the Nordic context and/or involving Nordic languages.
The journal welcomes studies of different linguistic domains, learning contexts, target languages, and more.
