After almost 4 weeks, our little boy has finally been discharged from the hospital and we're home!

Can't thank the incredible staff at Centenary Hospital for Women and Children enough for saving the life of our newborn. 💚

Medicare is a TREASURE. Protect it. Don't take it for granted! 💪⚕️💚

The hunchback of Mariah Carey:

Just learned that the Italian word for 'teleprompter' is the same as their word for 'hunchback' - 'gobbo'.

Points if you recognise the song from the "phonetic" lyrics on the screen.

My toddler having a meltdown because she "needs" a walrus. Not a toy one. Not a picture. She needs to go to a zoo and see a walrus apparently.

And so today I discovered that there are no walruses in Australia.

My bub ended up in the NICU and needed emergency surgery just 24 hours after he was born. He's fine now and recovering well but this past week has been the most terrifying and traumatic week of my life.

I was so convinced I wasn't in labour this morning (at 35 weeks) that I took my toddler to a birthday party then when my contractions didn't abate, left my partner and child at the party playing hide and seek and drove myself to hospital.

Anyway, I now have a wee lad with no name yet. All well. 👶

Sweet merciful crap 🤦‍♀️
The ‘Bush Legend’ is bringing us short videos of an Aboriginal person teaching us about native animals. But he isn’t real.

This juvenile eastern Koel just arrived in our birdbath. First time overt ever actually seen one (we can hear them all the time though in early summer).

They are parasitic nesters, and sure enough after a minute, a poor wattle bird turned up with a meal for its gargantuan imposter baby...

Summernats has once again blessed Canberra. 🚗💨🍩

I will say this for the hoons:
- they're pretty serious about sun protection
- they really know how to carpool

Canberrans could actually learn something...

Christmas with my in-laws this year. Just remembered that the last time I had Xmas with them, my MiL abruptly and obliviously burst out after xmas eve dinner: "who wants to see my succulent ring?"

Almost died laughing.

It was a wreath, folks. Will take photos if she's made another one this year.

Am 27 weeks pregnant and have the actual real-life flu and it is *horrendous*. Nurse just told me it would be so much worse if I hadn't got the flu booster a few months ago. 😱

Get vaccinated folks.💪💉
