Regarding the use of #AI in #grant_reviews where I said "there are still ‘serious doubts’ around whether LLMs create novel ideas. ‘If AI cannot create really novel ideas, it also is unlikely to detect really creative ideas!"
The @ukri.org is opening up between 1,000-2,000 of its past grant applications to test out if it can/should make use of generative AI.

When discussing the impacts of the US government shutdown on science, the #peer_review & editorial work done by federal scientists & staff is overlooked. Their absence is a halt in engagement with sharp minds. I miss their presence at @accountabilityair.bsky.social & look forward to their return.

Really enjoyed attending ENRIO conference. I raised the issue that 'RCR trainings do not necessarily improve openness of science,' partly because most of the work a researcher must do to open up science is ultimately work they do for free for others #open_science
