Accessible devices look different for every body. Some are recognizable medical equipment like canes, wheelchairs, etc. Others look like my camp chair. Lightweight and transportable, it allows me to rest whenever needed on the go. What do you use that isn't typical? #IAmMGStrong #DisabilityAwareness

All disabled people are deserving of life, love & care.

The narrative that “low functioning” people who don’t pay taxes, won’t serve in the military & can’t live independently are somehow expendable is deeply rooted in eugenics.

A person’s worth isn’t tied to their health or economic contribution

When your body feels like garbage, it's on fire, or "fill in the blank" your loved ones may think you're upset with them when in reality you're in pain, fatigued, mad at your body, or "fill in the blank." Be open about your experience. #LifeWithChronicIllness #MGWarrior

Take care of your neighbors, friends.
Gentle reminder that many disabled people can’t always shop local, especially if housebound. We’re dependent on delivery & sometimes left with big chains as only option.

If you can, help someone get what they need from a great local minority owned business!

Community will save us in the end.

80% of us will experience disability within our lifetime. "It won't happen to me," is not a statistically valid response. Enabling ableism hurts everyone. You are not immune. #Resist these attacks on children and persons with disabilities. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9z48...

“I have no idea how you do it! I could never live like you!”

Yes. You could. You wouldn’t have a choice.

When disability strikes, you have to adapt. You can’t just go to the doctor and demand new parts. You can’t “try harder” you’re way out of it.

You learn to cope to survive.
