Today I spoke again at another huge national march for Palestine.

The ceasefire has given Gaza a chance to breathe. But we will not stop until there's real peace and justice.

Until those guilty of genocide face justice.

Until Israel’s occupation ends.

Until Palestine is free.

UK billionaire wealth has more than doubled since 2010.

Workers’ wages have barely risen since 2008.

On Newsnight, I called for a tax on extreme wealth - that's the fairer alternative to cuts we need.

Even with the changes, the Disability Cuts Bill will see nearly half a million disabled people denied PIP over the next 4 years.

MPs shouldn't vote to cut support for disabled people who'll need help cutting up food, washing or going to the toilet.

I'm voting against the Bill.

Sadly the UC & PIP Bill as it stands will still impose brutal cuts, pushing huge numbers of people who desperately need support into poverty.

It is clear that the Bill must be withdrawn. 👇

Disabled people’s organisations, including DPAC, Taking The PIP & Disability Rights UK, have rightly condemned Labour’s so-called “concessions” on disability benefit cuts.

It’s not a concession to condemn future generations to less support.

I’ll be voting against this Bill.

labouroutlook.org/2025/05/17/t... My article about what's happening to the NHS. Why the big reorganisation? Why does Sir Jim Mackey want to see support staff moved from NHS contracts to SubCos? And why are NHS hospitals still allowed to make up to 49% of their money from private patients?

At the Spring Statement, I raised serious concerns about proposals to restrict disability benefits. The Government's impact assessment published today shows 250,000 more people and 50,000 more children will fall into relative poverty. It is clear that the Government must reconsider its plans.

New figures reveal 4.5 million children in the UK are growing up in poverty — the highest ever recorded.

Meanwhile, UK billionaires saw their wealth rise to £795 billion last year — another record.

We have resources to end child poverty. We need a wealth tax on the super-rich.

The Government should not be balancing the books on the backs of the poor and disabled.

On @lbc.co.uk I called for a wealth tax instead.

A wealth tax of just 2% on assets over £10 million would raise £24 BILLION per year.

Let's tax extreme wealth, not punish the poorest.
March 26, 2025 at 10:22 AM
Quite right. Tge government must drop these savage cuts.
This Statement contains cruel attacks on disabled people.

The Government is taking the easy option of cutting support for millions of vulnerable people rather than making the wealthiest pay.

I’ll vote against these cuts to disability benefits. The government must drop them.
March 26, 2025 at 4:32 PM
Well done @zarahsultana.bsky.social for speaking out on behalf of disabled people. Why does the Chancellor ignore the evidence of her government's impact assessment?
Disability benefit cuts will push over 250,000 people, including 50,000 children, into poverty.

So I asked the Chancellor — who earns over £150,000, accepted £7,500 in free clothes & took freebie tickets to see Sabrina Carpenter — if Austerity 2.0 is the "change" people voted for?
