The bulk of the day, however, was given over to equally excellent remarks from current doctoral students and newly-minted PhD’s. The organizers’ decision to center contemporary…

Verso Press listed Anna Kornbluh's 2024 text as one of its must-read publications of 2024, and I heartily concur. To me, the experience of reading the book was watching like videos of Jackson Pollock painting, tossing splatters here and here and here across a canvas. It feels as if Kornbluh said to herself, "look at the gajillion iterations of today's cultural production that…

ANYONE who has worn an f’n pin or posted/flown a rainbow flag or safe space sign better be paying attention. This is when your voice matters.
‼️ The State Department has REMOVED TQIA+ on their page of recommendations for queer travelers. This page yesterday said "LGBTQIA+" and now just says "LGB".

The federal government is trying to erase trans people from existence.

Is this true? If so, may all the curses known to humans rain down on the subhuman pos’s who did this. Just sayin’
While I can't confirm anything at this point, it looks like the National Park Service has taken down web pages for:

National Japanese American Memorial
Bainbridge Island Japanese American Memorial
Stonewall National Monument

The National Park Service cares for special places saved by the American people so that all may experience our heritage.

Hey @syracuseu.bsky.social
You do realize that supporting diversity means supporting it when the going gets rough and not just when it's culturally trendy, right? Why has the Newhouse News Diversity Fellowship gone dark? @sualums.bsky.social who care about DEI should make their voices known.

Marx Capital v 3: “Even an entire society, a nation, or all simultaneously existing societies taken together, are not the owners of the earth. They are simply its possessors, its beneficiaries, and have to bequeath it in an improved state to succeeding generations, as boni patres familias."

Lo, another day stolen by insurance: I can’t find you in BCBS. I’m covered, I’ve a call out. We must charge you. Can you hold my card until I get confirmation? No- reschedule? No! What you charge me in 20 seconds will take hours to get undone. Hours later, it’s undone. But so many don’t have a card!

Exactly. Don't give in before the fight is brought to you.
Rutgers, and any other schools preemptively pulling DEI programming, is an utter failure of courage in the face of political foolishness. We know better.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are not just buzzwords.
