A new study conducted by @kuleuvenuniversity.bsky.social, RMI, @sciensano.be, VITO and @ucl.ac.uk, highlights the effectiveness of “cool roofs”: reflective roofs that can significantly reduce temperatures in cities.

Many of you observed the Northern Lights on the evening and night of 19 to 20 January.

📸 Our camera in Uccle also captured this moment between 8:55 p.m. and 10:10 p.m. 🤩

ℹ️ These Northern Lights were caused by a solar storm with an intensity of G4 on a scale of 5.

Contrails' climate impact is due to their radiative forcing, the change in energy balance. At KMI-IRM @meteobe.bsky.social we do satellite observations of the radiative forcing of contrails! This news from @esa.int shows the cooperation between EarthCARE and the E-CONTRAIL project 🛰️☁️ CC @uc3m.es

WMO Ozone Bulletin says #ozone hole in 2024 is smaller than previous years. The RMI also contributes to the collection and sharing of ozone observations.
