The whole “Oh good on team Cherry for not flying to LA because they probably wouldn’t have won” it’s an award show, at least go to show praises for other devs. If they genuinely didn’t go because of personal grievances than yeah kinda a petty move especially when you win an award and don’t show :/

To be fair I wouldn’t be shocked if this was Yamaoka’s decision. Dude’s lost a lot of his early works luster as of late and given things like SH2r’s development (which he was a part of) and Masahiro Ito’s general transphobia over on this isn’t anything surprising tbh
The original Let It Die was famous for its absolutely amazing soundtrack. Akira Yamaoka went and got in touch with a HUNDRED of his favourite indie bands and commissioned each to do a track named 'let it die'. The result was borderline mystical.
