Kiva olla taas Unkarissa! Heti palattuani retkeilin Szolnokissa, joka on tunnettu tiszavirág-sillastaan. Korentojen (palingenia longicauda) parveilu on kesän merkki, mutta sitä saadaan vielä odotella Szolnokissa ja Szegedissä.

Szegedin yliopistolla suunnitellaan jo kevään ja kesän ohjelmaa innolla. Fennougristiikan laitos on mukana lapsille ja nuorille suunnatun Juniveristy-poptiedetapahtumassa. Tämä on oivallinen tapa herätellä innostusta kielitiedettä kohtaan koululaisissa. #opettaminen

Kävin pitkästä aikaa vanhalla kotikampuksella ja kirjastossa työskentelemässä. On paljon uusia hienoja rakennuksia, mutta paljon tuttua. Kirjastossa tulijaa tervehtivät udmurtinkieliset lehdet tutulla paikallaan. Olipa kotoisaa! #ulkosuomalainen #kotona

Tänään tapasin muita suomen kielen ja kulttuurin lehtoreita Helsingissä. Kävimme Ateneumissa ja retroravintolassa. Kuulin terveisiä eri puolilta maailmaa. Oli hauska päivä! #suomi

Olen pitkästä aikaa Suomessa. Turussakin on lunta ja pakkasta. Tuntuu kylmältä Unkarin talven jälkeen.

Vuosi vaihtuu pian. Laskin, että luin tänä vuonna 30 kirjaa (+artikkeleita ja osia kirjoista luentojen ja tutkimuksen takia). Luetusta 3/4 oli tietokirjoja. Sopiva uudenvuodenlupaus onkin lukea enemmän kaunokirjallisuutta vuonna 2026. #uusivuosi

Siivosin (vihdoin) työhuoneen. Szegedin kirjahyllyistä voi löytää monta kerrostumaa fennistiikan ja fennougristiikan historiaa. Ehkä minäkin jätän jälkeeni jotain. Ainakin suomea puhuvia opiskelijoita 😄 #lehtorihommat
Turns out, I still need to take some courses for credits for my phd degree (in addition to writing my final paper of course). Any recommendations for MOOCs on the topics of Bayesian statistics, sematics, historical linguistics etc. I could take? 🤔 Conferences or seminars give 0 credits. #phdsky

Yesterday the Finno-Ugric department at the University of Szeged celebrated the Udmurt language day by familiarizing ourselves with Southern Udmurt dialects by watching a film. We also made traditional hay decorations. See the film here:

Yesterday the Finno-Ugric department at the University of Szeged celebrated the Udmurt language day by familiarizing ourselves with Southern Udmurt dialects by watching a film. We also made traditional hay decorations. See the film here:

I recently got the chance to attend a gala evening organized by the SzeBit 2025 business & IT gala program. Guess what? I won a PC at the lottery! I'm planning to install a Linux distro on it and use it as work computer for paper writing. It's easy to travel with too! #SzeBit
