Brianna Ghey's mum is worse than Captain Tom's granddaughter sorry.
Daughter is murdered by a gang of transphobic kids and the response is to start "mental elf 💔❤️🩹" grifting and lobbying for phone bans.
At least Captain Tom's fam were selfish little pricks. Ghey's are doing THIS.

Brianna Ghey was killed because of phones, it's true.

When Rosie Duffield is in on it I think we can safely say the anti-phone campaign in Brianna's name is actively at odds with tackling transphobia

Latest data suggests TWO THOUSAND people are detained by the state within "mental health hospitals" in England alone.
72% are autistic. Most do not have a learning disability, and the average hold is 4.7 YEARS.
Remember this every time we're told to blame A&E visitors for the NHS crisis.

Brianna's mother is so vile in her attempts to cover up her daughter's murder, that even the BBC will not elaborate on the fact that this statement refers to her belief that BRIANNA'S phone access was the primary cause of her death, and the rhetoric consumed by Brianna's killers was secondary.
Phones did not murder Brianna Ghey in cold blood.

MEN (and Reach in general) has been instrumental to the fascist resurgence of this island. Go on your regional news site's facebook page and count the number of blatantly-misleading headlines designed to rile up your nan into a goose-stepping furor.
We won't beat 'em with lawfare but fuck em, lol.

the last two years have been devastating for our comrades abroad & an insult to the humanity of everyone i know. we'll all never be the same again & it was all so a few over promoted middle managers can get a few free concert tickets or cushy jobs when they inevitably get kicked out of government 👍

While the starbucks union is putting pressure on the bosses, take note of their "christmas cups" promotion this year.
The artificial scarcity, the social media frenzy, and then letting staff buy the stock first...
It's like a perfectly-manufactured campaign to undermine solidarity w/ the union. 🧐

Starbucks baristas at Disneyland’s Downtown Disney store - and across the country - are getting strike-ready unless Starbucks finalizes contracts and ends union-busting by November 13th.
It would take less than ONE DAY’S SALES to finish these contracts.

these policies fall into two categories:
* Proposed and passed under the Tory govt, and simply entered force under Labour.
* Nightmare-ish ghoul-slop that no one asked for, totally contrary to Labour's manifesto and elevating a fringe movement of cranks into a mainstream wave of fascism.

Why aren't Labour's life-changing policies connecting with voters - and what can the party do? It's down to messaging, how it's told, and the messengers...
Why don’t Labour’s workers’ and renters’ rights reforms cut through to voters – and how should they? – LabourList
When millions of workers and renters don’t know you’re doing more to improve their rights than any government in half a century, something is going…

TIL we have a database at work that stores the life expectancy of customers. I'm imagining a scenario where a begrudged database admin assassinates their enemies by setting life expectancy records to zero, like a death note

Capitalism and it's ability to alienate works in hyperspeed WRT social media.
These folks start as users, rightly identify many failures of existing systems, then start their own alternatives. Consider how self-moderation was janky but allowed vital tools like auto-tagging users.

"Torment Nexus" comes from this tweet and is often used now to describe the kind of negative experiences you can have with social networks, like getting dogpiled or harassed or being pushed into conflict

does anyone have experience with using NHS Right to Choose for an Autism diagnosis?
gf wants to check out Autism360 (ADHD360 has been good with me tbf!) but their screening questionnaire has put her down a bit as the examples are quite... niche? And in her opinion they're quite male oriented.

nah fair play to the govt engineering an energy economy where the toxic gas we import via pipelines across thousands of miles is a third of the price per kWH than the power we generate for FREE from the AIR AND SUN.

Like, I agree with Zarah's antizionism statements, but isn't it funny how the talk of class and organising and antifascism in the spaces she has power NOW always take the back seat to wildly idealistic sentiments that assume YP is on a trajectory to a supermajority, rather than a discord schism.
