If they’re looking to make a case for the importance of a strong social safety net, laying off hundreds of thousands of workers at once ought to do it.

This should be exceedingly obvious, but when Stonewall stays up while references to trans people come down, they will measure the silence of cisgender people as concurrence for whatever they plan next, and it still won't protect you in the end. So please get loud. Our mutual survival depends on it.

Part of the cruelty of taking away the TQIA+ and leaving just LGB is the cynical, tyrannical naming of the community FOR that community, defining and isolating from outside who belongs and who doesn't.

National Park Service removed the word "transgender" from the Stonewall Nat'l Monument page. Marsha P. Johnson, heroine of Stonewall, was trans. NPS now uses only "LGB" — erasing the T, Q, +, and everyone else. Tell them they can't erase trans people from history, LGBTQ+ community, or real life.

Not a surprise, but the violence of this is devastating. I know ACLU, HRC & others will fight it, and I'm again contacting my Congresspeople & governor to beg them to act.

1. Yesterday, Trump released a sweeping executive order designed to end transgender youth care. It uses unconstitutional means and dubious interpretations of old laws to threaten hospitals, parents, and providers.

I ate your PLUMS and I cannot lie
I'm guilty and I won't deny
That when I found them kept in a pretty chilly place
yeah I put them in my face
and man, YUM, couldn't have enough
'Cause you know that my tum is stuffed,
But you were breakfast saving,
Your forgiveness now I'm craving

I literally just got out of meetings with members of Congress & used the bathroom on my way out.

Trans women are women—full stop. We're every bit as "biologically female" as cis women & Speaker Johnson's statement doesn't change the fact that women's spaces include trans women.

when the time comes & this bill has a number or is rolled into a rules package, we absolutely need cis folks to call reps about this. even GOP reps.

if 1 democrat lets this go without a fight, a national bill won’t be far behind. and if the GOP isn’t unanimous, there’s a chance they won’t even try.

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, I feel a burning mix of fury, heartbreak, and powerlessness over the Republican drooling viciousness toward Sarah McBride and her mild response to it. I trust that she’s doing what she needs to do. I will not hear any Republican speak to me of “civility,” EVER.

1. Ohio has become the first state in the aftermath of the election to pass an anti-trans law on the first day of a lame duck session.

It is a transgender bathroom ban that even applies to adults in private universities.
