If you ever thought that crypto taxes were easy because there are a whole bunch of companies to solve the issue of crypto tax compliance, think again!

I find that no two providers are the same, and go over some common errors that they make in @taxnotes.com today.

Has anyone on #tax #taxsky had someone who used crypto software and was then audited or had their return adjusted on the transactions?

🧵 THREAD: A federal whistleblower just dropped one of the most disturbing cybersecurity disclosures I’ve ever read.

He's saying DOGE came in, data went out, and Russians started attempting logins with new valid DOGE passwords

Media's coverage wasn't detailed enough so I dug into his testimony:

So I gave my class a simple tax problem today (see below) and had them use AI to calculate the tax owed. The answers ranged from $78k to $171k.

Out of 56 students, only 2 of the Outputs came to the same answer, and none of them got the correct answer. Only 2 were within $1,000.

Classic misunderstanding...

MS Office is no longer the product that MS sells to us (the consumer)

We are the product that MS sells to advertisers (the new consumer)

😅
Tech's approach is mind-boggling.

Rather than make a product people want and will willingly pay for, they instead seek to make products so awful that you have to pay for the less-awful version.
