Double mastectomy this morning for invasive ductal carcinoma - breast cancer. In October of all months.
So yeah - I'm very aware of breast cancer this month.
But first I have a million and one things to do before we leave.
My anxiety is anxieting.

I read an article the other day that said we can't accuse so-called Christians of not being Christians. Agree to disagree. There is nothing Christ-like about this administration. Not. One. Thing.
Q: We've seen images out of Chicago of federal agents shooting faith leaders with pepper balls and arresting journalists. Where's the limit for you on what's acceptable conduct by federal agents?

My husband has been self employed for 2 years after a lay off. Our COBRA coverage ends at the end of February 2026. Were it not for the ACA changing pre existing clauses for ACA plans, I would be uninsurable because of chronic health issues and a new breast cancer diagnosis... during treatment.
Health insurance companies are finalizing their rates RIGHT NOW.
Doesn't matter if you're in a red or blue state, your premium might skyrocket.
And somehow, Republican senators are okay with throwing thousands of their own constituents under the bus.

I sincerely doubt many of the highest ranking officials in our armed forces can meet the physical expectations the Trump admin has now set for the military. It is simply a matter of aging. But I'd rather have the wisdom of seasoned leaders than dimwitted, bulked up "leaders" like Hegseth.

How does one go about asking a potential therapist who lists they are a christian whether they are a Trump/MAGA "christian" or, you know, like an actual christ-following christian?

On the first day, being told I likely have breast cancer came almost as a welcome reprieve to having to think about what is happening in our country because of our current government - which is neither of nor for the people....

It's become clear that this administration is just a protracted war on anybody who's read a book without pictures in it. It's a miracle we're all still getting up and going to work every morning. The psychological drain is the point, and I'm increasingly grateful to the people who are still decent.

This is exciting news! I've followed Salaam on social media for years now because of his honesty, authenticity, and integrity. I'm thrilled to see him running for office as I often thought he should - I just had never realized it would be for my own district if he did!
