I hope this is useful for someone: A few days ago I've released my first app for iPhone, Traverso, a text and format transformation tool. It’s native and ad-free compared to the alternatives available elsewhere: apps.apple.com/us/app/trave...
‎Traverso Case Converter
‎Traverso lets you quickly edit, transform and convert your text: write or paste your input, then choose from more than 20 filter, ranging from simple everyday tasks (transform to uppercase, lowercase...

Do you like sleeping well? Do you enjoy writing HTML for a living? Then DO NOT attempt writing email signature in HTML. I just wrote a blog post specifically on this subject: www.univocal.co/falsehoods-p... Follow me for more depressing programming tricks. Or maybe don’t.
Falsehoods programmers believe about email signatures (or: bad lessons in sleep hygiene)
TL:DR; for this post: Writing DIY Email signatures in HTML is still a mess in 2025. Use a service like Exclaimer, Crossware or CodeTwo if you can, otherwise approach them as if you were writing a mail...

Traverso 1.3, codename... uh, "oh god please no more flu for this year", I guess - is out.

You can download Traverso for free on the app store. It's available for any iPhone running iOS 17.6 and newer, an iPad version is coming in the next few days.

Flu was terribad, I’ve just started to recover in the last few days. Unfortunately it also put a slowdown on some planned updates for traverso. Expect a quick 1.2.5 release in a few days with some much needed fixes and improvements.

Bummed to hear about David Lynch. I had a chance to talk with him when he came in my hometown, Catania, in 2011; he had been invited by our major after he opened a local trascendental meditation school. 1/2

I got a cold, so no updates to Traverso for now. In the meantime: programming aside, I was re-reading this essay about a mostly forgotten 2016 videogame, Hostile Waters - if only for how oddly prescient some of its political analysis was: www.rockpapershotgun.com/hostile-wate...
A World Gone Sane: Strategy and Story In Hostile Waters
Strategy games seldom come with a premise more creative than "what if aliens?", or "what if robots?", or perhaps "what …

By the way, Traverso has been updated to version 1.2, on this release I've made a few fixes, added a "Share..." action and translated it to Italian (duh), German, French and Spanish. You can download it from the app store: apps.apple.com/us/app/trave...

There's a bit of backstory about Traverso, the app I released a few days ago - I mostly developed it for a few coworkers of mine getting extremely annoyed by ad-filled websites doing the same thing. You can read about it here if you're interested: www.univocal.co/looking-beyo...

So, here we are. In last few years we've seen the phenomenon of "digital nomadism" from Twitter to Mastodon first, then Mastodon to Threads, and now thanks to the new "code of conduct" by meta, from Threads to Bluesky. Probably it won't be the last in a short time. 1/2
