I don’t know what has changed because I’m a Luddite with cable but live sports on my TV remains at least a play or two behind live and it sucks.

Every morning at 7am my son's high school sends out a newsletter. I've actually started using it as a gauge for how late or not I'm running in the morning. But despite the daily updates, I still have no idea if school ends at 3 or 3:30 today. The art of communication! 🙄

There is a huge rat who either is dying or sleeping next to my garbage cans (I’m too scared to find out, lol) and I think that might be the good news from today. 😞

Well, you can't say that DePodesta isn't familiar with being under 50 feet of crap, though I'd argue the Rockies are probably at at least 100 feet.

The draft for the 4-team Women's Professional Baseball League is drawing nigh.

But it's not just about the players and coaches. Stay tuned for news about something huge about to happen in the world of women umpires, one of the most exciting and profoundly personal projects I've ever been a part of.

Why does this guy look like young Phil Collins?
The last time a man in his 30s was mayor of New York City was in 1913. Still, John Purroy Mitchel, known as the “Boy Mayor,” was three months older than Zohran Mamdani is now.

Kind of annoying that we aren't entering the top of the 8th inning in a wildly crazy postseason game right now.

It's kind of cool that the last two players selected in the first round by the Oakland A's are finalists for the Rookie of the Year award. Feels like this one should count towards the Oakland total (currently seven).

This is a fun chart!

The green is the main bsky load balancer traffic throughput from Saturday night, and the purple is how much traffic there was 7 days before (the previous Saturday)

The spike is due to the world series - pretty incredible! ⚾

Taken individually, arguments over these candidates will get very tiresome between now and December. As a collective, though, an incredible summary of MLB from roughly 1985-2008.
