My father was a union leader. He used to say, “You can’t beg for your rights. You have to fight and take them.” I am a proud original cosponsor of the PRO Act because workers are fighting for their rights and they need labor law to have their backs.
Millions of workers would become union members tomorrow if they could. But American labor law is broken, weighted on the side of bosses and against workers.
The PRO Act is long overdue. We urge elected leaders to move this critical legislation forward.

Keep in mind that the probationary federal employees who are now being fired are NOT just newly hired ones. If a long-term employee is promoted to a higher-level position, such as a supervisory or managerial role, then the employee may be subject to a probationary period for that new position.
