Leaves are budding here in the PNW. In the middle of January. Where the light is low and soft instead of strong and warm. It’s another contribution to the unease settling in this winter, one marked by more ICE in the streets than ice on the ground

MORMONS: look its very clear that God and his established authority on the earth, do not have the power to actually influence sporting events. Thats why BYU doesn't win anything important. That would be way too hard

We're hoping to unseal California's OBCs 91 years later. Today the Judiciary Committee will hear SB 381. "SB 381 would allow adult adoptees in Calif. unrestricted access to original birth certificates, restoring equality, identity rights and transparency."

It is prime birding season here in the Skagit Valley, and there is a lot we can learn from the messy, diverse flocks that land here each year in search of an easier winter, regardless of how temporary the relief may be.

I used to take risks, or, at least, didn’t let my anxiety make decisions for me. My hope is that, in 2026, I learn how to live comfortably with anxiety and fear without letting it call the shots

There was a big reason the flooding on the Skagit wasn't worse, they held back everything they could at the dam upstream--literally stopped flow, stopped power generation and maxed out what they could hold back. www.kuow.org/stories/army...
