Her co pilot, Fred Noonan, was known to have a problem with booze (btw, Amelia did very little of the actual flying). She no doubt went down due to pilot error and a million other things; a quick Google search will fill in gaps. ffs
I am absolutely 100% not going to get sucked into some "what happened to Amelia Earhart, there was a cover-up" discussion.
If you know anything about aviation in that period, then you know this was a pilot error accident. A lot of pilots died in that era. There is no mystery.
