1/ On approximately September 18, 2025, Amazon deleted scores of seller listings for handheld suction plungers being marketed as "choking rescue devices."
At the moment I can't find an Amazon listing for *any* devices of this type or on any other major online retailer. (Walmart, Target, etc.)

1/ From 1976-85, the @americanheart.bsky.social recommended back blows as the first treatment for choking rescue. If that failed to remove the obstruction? Proceed with the Heimlich maneuver.
In 1986 the AHA dropped back blows. But this week they reverted to pre-1985 guidelines.
