Listening @lawrenceodonnell.msnbc.com this evening and will soften my views on the DEM response to the budget. However, the GOP seems to find it easy to take away funding. We are just asking for the same determination. But he made it clear leaders are not the most important people in the room

It’s not that they were blindsided. They finally recognized how in incompetent the man was. Maybe a little bit of vetting next time

It has taken me 11 months to get over the past election and engage in politics again. And the Senate has just determined they don’t want me (former GOPer) voting in the next election. There is no good spin on this. My dad always said don’t start a fight you don’t want to win.

Following this vote I am amazed at the anger expressed by CONSTITUENTS at their elected officials who allowed and shut down for 40 days and then folded on something really important to them instead of not following the dear leader like the GOP. The primary machine is just getting started.

@sykescharlie.bsky.social had an article about the movie about Adam Kinzinger and the movie done about him called The Last Republican. Watch at your own risk. My rage meter went up again. I pigeoned holed some of this. The GOP acted disgusting then and continues to this day.

Dear GOP. This new talking point about not paying insurance companies during a one year extension of the ACA subsidies for low income people is false but you know it. The ACA limited overhead costs by insurance companies. If you think they are cheating investigate and send the DOJ in.

Hey GOP. Perhaps you should read this. You lost safe seats in Blue states. How does that make you feel about the gerrymandered seats you created with lower Trump margins? Should be sweating a bit

How about making sure every rave has an alternative. I live in red MO. I often leave half of the races not voted for because I don’t liked the candidates running and no one is running against them
3. Political education on state campaign finance reforms. Then fund and run the candidates who pledge to uphold them. You’ll lose a lot. But you need to regain the moral high ground. You have to build the mountaintop.

So... like what happens to the economy when 4M unpaid federal employees suddenly cannot pay their mortgages? How many months backstop do you think most people have?

Just as a rough point of reference the 2008 subprime crisis arose from somewhere in the 1M mortgage foreclosures range.

Ouch. There goes that seat in IL.
“Premiums tend to be higher in rural areas, and they are particularly high in a handful of very rural states, like Wyoming and West Virginia… A 60-year-old living in southern Illinois will face premiums increasing from $460 a month with the subsidies to $2,800 a month without.”

The new prices make it official: Americans will need to pay more for insurance next year if extra subsidies are allowed to expire.

In poor areas, a lot more of any given grocery's income is going to be coming in through food stamps.

In the poorest food deserts, the few stores available might exist almost entirely on food stamp revenue. They will be the hardest hit, a huge chunk of their revenue vanishing.
