JPMorgan should ‘threaten’ UK over banker tax, Mandelson told Epstein.

Mandelson was Business Secretary at that time in 2009.

After leaving govt in 2010, Mandelson set up an advisory firm called Global Counsel, JPMorgan was a client.

Must be investigated.

Morning all
Mandelson should be in prison.
Starmer should resign over his poor judgement in appointing him as Ambassador.
(Yet, I reckon no new law will be passed to remove PM of peerage, and the police will be under pressure to find 'insufficient evidence' for a prosecution).

I’ve been asked about whether the common law offence of Misconduct in Public Office is possible. I don’t see why not.

These are the essential ingredients and being a cabinet minister at the material time has to be right up there with “public office”

This bastion of moral virtue has opinions about the Green Party.

Just remember that as they continue to attack us.

This is who they are. Mask is off.

OMG it gets worse and worse!
Palantir's UK state contracts (defence, police and NHS) and involvement with Labour stinks really putrid too. They were using Mandelson as a lobbyist. Their boss Peter Thiel is highly toxic and despises democracy and human rights.

9. So, when his former colleagues, including the sainted Gordon Brown, accuse him of betraying the national interest:
A. They are right.
But
B. This is exactly what he was there to do.

8. Yet Gordon Brown’s government had massively increased the budget for the department, stuffed it with unelected ministers, and given Mandelson free rein to tailor public policy to corporate demands.

1. In 2009 I wrote this. I argued that Peter Mandelson's department “functions as a fifth column within government, working for corporations to undermine democracy and the public interest.”
This thread explains what I saw, and reaches a startling conclusion.🧵

It's rare to see how lobbyists operate. But the Epstein-Mandelson correspondence shows us what happens all the time: plutocrats and government ministers conspiring against the public interest. This is why all lobbying should be in the public domain, but despite Labour and Con promises, it's not. 🧵

Yorkshire Water and Northumbrian Water have nearly 200 criminal convictions between them.

On 6 August 2024, Ofwat announced fines of £47m and £17m for sewage dumping.

Headline grabbing fines not paid, will never be paid. Companies claim to have invested.

Nothing is going to change until those that have harmed us are held accountable. We, the people, need to start holding individuals and corporations to account for their wrong-doings - the sooner we start, the sooner things will improve.

Well, it happens they were doing exactly that.
