Yup. It's not "trump's occupation of Venezuela."

We've spent years trying to get people to recognize *russia's invasion of Ukraine, *russia's genocide in Ukraine, *russia's kidnapping of Ukrainian children. Not just putin's.

No shirking our own responsibility. That goes for Congress and all of us.

Absolutely insane to see so many posts today claiming Trump’s decision to grab Maduro in Venezuela will somehow embolden Putin to do likewise in Ukraine.

NEWSFLASH: Putin has already been trying to kill Zelenskyy since the very start of the invasion and has utter contempt for international law

Every argument supporting what we just did in Venezuela falls apart when you remember that not quite five months ago, American soldiers were on their knees rolling out a red carpet for *putin*.

Venezuela may seem like a tactical loss for Russia, but in fact it's a strategic win for Putin's vision of the world. new essay:

There are some horrible analogies flying around today. A reminder: the US kidnapping of Maduro in no way justifies, vindicates, or lifts responsibility from the Ru govt or the Ru people. Their war against Ukraine continues to be an unprovoked act of aggression with war crimes and genocidal intent.

Seeing more about the possibility that Ukraine *may have targeted one of putin's residences (it didn't) than about the continuing russian attacks on 🇺🇦 civilians.

The default position still seems to be that anything russian is more important, more newsworthy, more deserving of concern & attention.

Yet another one of these stories. People aren't swiping left because these dudes believe in lower taxes or less regulation. It's because they believe millions of people aren't worthy of rights, especially women. Women are looking out for their safety.

Everyone has a list of so-called "red flags" when they're dating. And for some, especially younger Americans, different political views is a relationship deal breaker.

As I was saying, Trump isn't a mediator in the Russo-Ukrainian war, he has sided with the russian aggressor.
BREAKING: A Russian newspaper today — “America no longer sees our country as a threat… The US leader’s philosophy is closer to the values of Russia’s president, not the politicians of the Old World… he sees Europe as a liberal stronghold that must be destroyed…”

Read that again.

this is the simple answer to people who keep saying NATO expansion matters. Sure, it matters because it presented an obstacle to Russian imperial ambitions. Putin didn't invade because he hated NATO expansion, he hated NATO expansion because he wanted to invade

“What the Trump administration is doing is essentially charging Ukrainians for their safety.”

Taking advantage of people from an allied(!) country who came to us legally(!!) for help is evil.

After fleeing the war in Ukraine, they thought they were safe. Then came Trump’s deportation blitz.
As the war in Ukraine drags on and U.S. immigration policy shifts, many Ukrainians “are stranded,” says a Chicago attorney, and now some are being detained. “‘They’re saying, ‘We didn't violate the la...
