Careful reading of this interim report gives much to be optimistic about. Pedagogical freedom is preserved, with hints of change ahead that could enable more space for colleagues to enact irresistible teaching and learning @collegeofteaching.bsky.social
The next stage of the Curriculum and Assessment Review will look to create a more inclusive and fair system, address subject-specific challenges, and assess available pathways beyond GCSEs.

Going through my Downloads folder I found a study by Babu and Mendro from 2003's AERA conference. They found that low achievers benefitted greatly from having more effective teachers for three years, but were less likely to get them:

HELP! #chemChat I have a really bright A Level Chemistry student who is Polish, they are finding the language of #chemistry challenging. Any recommendations for support please? We have used a Polish-English, but the tier 3 subject specific terminology doesn’t quite translate.
