So after ~1,5 years of learning Japanese and feeling stuck, I decided to start Genki, I looked at it at the start but it didn't click. Now it somehow feels better. Maybe also because I have a Japanese person to do some exercises and ~1 year before I maybe will go to Japan for multiple month!

Saw someone say, “Stop hoarding books, we don’t need paper books anyway” and I can’t express how misguided this is. Online libraries disappear, digital books can be altered, and with Big Tech seeking to destroy history and literacy, print media has never been more essential.

I have gotten an introduction to my woodworking clubs Tormek T8.
Now I am ready to sharpen my carving knives - hopefully it will turn out better then when I do it with sandpaper and by hand!

So if you had one year to learn Japanese to a relatively decent level (say start of N3), what would you do?

LRT: I do want to reiterate: I learned Japanese from scratch, starting at 18. A lot of people scare themselves out of learning it or another language as adults thinking it's somehow impossibly tough if you miss that window when your brain is more "impressionable," but it really isn't.

Next week I am going back to work, going back to the day to day.
So I can get back into regular and more intense Japanese learning.
Only did some Anki and Teuida the last few weeks because of vacation. Needed the break. But I didn't really feel progress.
Now, I am itching to do more again.

First time trying to sharpen my woodcarving knive. Messed up, but think I fixed it. The knive is sharp, but not sharp enough. I really need to learn the angle...

In Germany, we don't invent individual names for things, we just say, what it does and put "zeug" after it - and I think that's beautiful:
