Hoping the sky is bluer on the other side. Watching the Arsenal, listening to decades-old Radiohead concerts, trying not to screw up the children too badly.
Phil Foden MOTM performance surely.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT IT
Sen. Tammy Duckworth: "ICE are raging through the streets of Chicago trying to intimidate everyday ordinary citizens trying to go to school and work. That's not what America is about. It's shameful that the president has instigated this."

ICE throwing tear gas by a supermarket on a busy morning street, getting a 2-yr old child caught up in the smoke. Fed helicopter hovering for hours. Volunteers rushing to a neighborhood school to walk kids to safety. Our day on the West side of Chicago. This is really happening to you America.

Best 30 min for Gyökeres in an Arsenal shirt, I think. He’s rounding into shape.

An antisemite shot two kids in Colorado, at least one of whom is Jewish.

The White House “fighting antisemitism” doesn’t care, because the shooter was a student radicalized online into far right beliefs, which the regime is cool with, rather than a student verbally criticizing Israeli govt policy.
‘Radicalized’ Evergreen High School shooter appeared to hold antisemitic, violent views in online accounts
Social media accounts that appear to be connected to the 16-year-old shooter are littered with references to mass shootings and antisemitic views, The Denver Post found.

Soviet jokes becoming more and more relevant:

Scientist: “Mr. Brezhnev, the Americans landed on the moon!”

Brezhnev: “If the Americans have the moon, we will go to the sun!”

Scientist: “It’s hot, sir, the cosmonauts will die!”

Brezhnev: “Are you stupid? We will go at night!”

A lot of us who grew up outside the US looked at it with a sense of awe & glamour growing up (mostly through films). Now, you see this & just think everything that made it feel special is so diminished. Cheap, nihilistic & has no sense of culture being worth anything. The Crypto Era I guess.

I remember some of you people calling for an 18-year-old to trigger our press today and for a 1-week-ago signing to play on Salah’s side, also called Arsene naive and tactic-less for doing similar things.

If Saka is healthy for Liverpool at ours, we will beat them by >1 goal. If Saka misses less than 5 PL matches, I think we win the league by >4 points. We just played our toughest fixture. Two seasons ago we beat City at Emirates by same score (1-0). They won the league. It’s a long season.

We were not too cautious! Away to the champions is not a time to mess with the setup and play Ethan or a new signing at a key pressing trigger. Long season, we will hammer the teams we drew against last year. A point would have been fine. Three would have been better. Unlucky loss not end of world.

That game is not killing my vibe. 4 starters out, they didn’t get anything outside that free kick. Eze with a bright cameo, I love what he and Odegaard will do on the pitch together at the top of the box. This team is now built to get 3 points from all those drawn games last year. We will be fine.

Does Mikel stick or twist? Martinelli poor, Eze would improve us so much going forward, but we have been hurt so often in past matches by Liverpool’s counters on that flank. Do we sacrifice the protection Gabi offers? Not sure that I would while we still have a point to protect.

Radiohead, here, front row center in 2002. Got insanely lucky when I was in a Barcelona Internet cafe at the exact time that they added an extra show in San Sebastián.

Another excuse/more cover for refs to assert their importance. I know most of refereeing is a subjective judgment call, but VAR (as any adaptation of game laws) should strive to minimize refereeing impact on match outcome. PGMOL and the FA continue to do the opposite.

Which hamstring did Saka do last year?

Zubimendi has that quality which almost feels innate in certain Spanish midfielders where they deliver the pass with instruction attached. He already is so pleasing on the eye in our midfield and it’s match day 2.
