It's clear at this point to me that the severity of the Minneapolis invasion is far more intense and fascist than previous ones in places like LA, which I witnessed.

Pay attention y'all, we still have 3 more years of this shit and the only way out is every single person locking in to support them.

this crystallizes why, despite truly heroic solidarity and activism, i can’t quite get in the “we’re going to win” mindset right now. the harm is so active and there’s so much violence we don’t even know about. people are being turned into ghosts.

It was not immediately clear what the immigration status of those detained was, or whether the people detained included the restaurant’s owners or only workers. An eyewitness who declined to give a name for fear of retribution, told the Minnesota Star Tribune that four ICE agents sat in a booth for a meal at El Tapatio a little before 3 p.m. Staff at the restaurant were frightened, said the eyewitness, who shared pictures from the restaurant as well as video of the arrest. The arrest happened around 8:30 p.m. near a Lutheran church and Willmar Middle School as agents followed the workers after they closed up for the night. A handful of bystanders blew whistles and shouted at agents as they detained the people. “Would your mama be proud of you right now?” one of the bystanders asked.

intersectionelle "For folks I know outside of the Twin Cities: Everything you are seeing about the siege we are under is worse than you might think. ICE "agents" are on the streets racially profiling people and abducting them from bus stops, parking lots, businesses, cars, and homes. They are operating under the assumption that only whiteness equals citizenship. I have personally witnessed them abduct my neighbors off the street while out on watch. I've lost count to what have witnessed. I have seen them leave cars empty in the middle of the street after abducting people. I have watched them push people they have abducted out of their vehicles and randomly leave them in the different parts of the city because they racially profiled people and then realized they have abducted a US citizen or someone with legal status. This is only if they havent already taken them to the Whipple Building and falsely detained them for hours. I was at Roosevelt High School when ICE came at the end of the school day. I witnessed them push teens to the ground, deploy pepper bombs, mace people, tackle and arrest an observer and leave the scene with two other people they had abducted. This went viral, but this behavior is the norm here now. It's happening everyday, dozens of times a day. Since they murdered my neighbor, Renee Good, they are only escalating against legal observers who are using our First Amendment rights to document and witness what is happening and protect our neighbors. They are crashing cars, smashing windows, pulling people out of their cars, using mace, pepper bombs, and rubber bullets. There is no one here to protect us but ourselves. MPD is useless and in collusion (we never expected them to help us anyway). It's damming that this is the least amount of Minneapolis Police I've seen in South Minneapolis, my usually heavily policed neighborhood. They have turned to look away, enabling ICE to ransack our city. ICE "agents" are endangering our streets in countless ways and a critical one is by driving recklessly, running lights, and going the wrong direction on one ways. It is a miracle none of us have been killed yet by these fake police in rental SUVs with tinted windows causing an accident. They have no lights, no sirens, no legitimacy and it shows. In response to being under siege local businesses and restaurants are closing their doors to protect their workers and customers. Target on the other hand is allowing ICE to stage in their parking lots, use their restrooms, and abduct people from inside their stores - so if you weren't boycotting already, now is the time. The streets and buses are dead except for neighbors observing, sharing resources, and protecting our community. Minneapolis has changed. The mobilization of resources and neighbors is strong. There are thousands upon thousands of us. Documenting, witnessing, disrupting abductions, disseminating resources, providing care for those left behind after an abduction, sending documentation to the ACLU and sharing with local immigrant rights orgs that are providing further care and legal advocacy for the people they are abducting. We will not give up on each other. To all of you outside of Minnesota. Boycott businesses supporting ICE. Divest from corporations supporting ICE. Donate money to orgs on the ground here in Twin Cities - food banks, legal aid, mutual aid (I will drop some links in the comments). Protest in your communities. Call your reps and voice vour dissent. Make a plan for what you will do when ICE descends on your community. Meet your neighbors and make sure they know their rights." Aiden Michael Bettine
