Hawaii is offering to pay air traffic controllers who work in Hawaii. This is wise in the short term because Hawaii depends on tourists. But if it reduces the pressure on the Republicans to fund health care insurance premiums and SNAP, it may do more harm than good.

The Trump regime has fired an estimated 70 immigration judges since February. Nearly half previously defended immigrants in court.
