Follow this thread for Arlington County's 1/29 Snow Removal Update:
🚛📝 We've brought in additional equipment & are addressing issues submitted through the Snow Issue Form (arlingtonva.us/snowform) using plows, backhoes, loaders & skid steers to help maximize removal efforts

2500** truck loads of snow!!!!!

Thank you to our snow removal staff who have been working in alternating 12 hour shifts with every piece of equipment we have for the last five days
Phase 4 clean-up continues, having passed the 2500-truck-loads mark of snow removed from busy County corridors. Also: Revered 80s banger "I Melt with You" first appeared on the Modern English album "After the Snow," which received mostly indifferent reviews. #ArlWX arlingtonva.us/winter

Hauling snow and handling hurdles—Arlington County is on it! ❄️
Our Snow Crew and support teams continue to work around the clock, but the unique combination of snow, sleet, and freezing rain – and consistent refreezing – has made progress slow and difficult on some streets.

County crews are in Phase 4 of storm response, which includes cleaning up areas that need attention.

The storm that impacted the region last weekend was truly "exceptional," said @capitalweather.bsky.social, and its impacts are going to be felt for weeks. www.arlingtonva.us/About-Arling...
Winter Storm Updates: Crews Respond to 'Exceptional' Snowstorm
Arlington County is responding to a winter storm impacting the region Saturday evening through early next week, with heavy snow mixed with sleet and freezing rain possible.

Okay everyone we are open for all of your complaints now

Please describe the specific problem areas, submit a photo, etc

Please also be patient - a crew is not going to show up 5 minutes after you submit! But it does get your spot in the queue and we will continue to work through every complaint.
Crews have now shifted to Phase 4 of storm response, cleaning up areas that need more attention. The Snow Issue Form is now open for reports regarding residential areas, plus primary routes. Be as specific as possible in terms of location. Photos help. arlingtonva.us/winter #ArlWX

VA House Dems just finished a presser where they talked about their immigration priorities. Several good bills getting prioritized, but no mention of those that'd abolish 287g agreements

When asked by a reporter, they said "those will be discussed in committee."

Good time to send your emails.

Boosting because I'm told a couple neighbors have submitted requests for snow removal help in ARL and FFX.

Surrounding jurisdictions “don’t really have a program like this,” a coordinator told me. If volunteers in those areas sign up, the Snow Buddy Program says it will help connect them.

For my Arlington friends plz share! And if you can, sign up to help our neighbors with their snow!!

Passable doesn’t mean perfect!

Crews will continue to work on streets, but are prioritizing achieving one lane that’s passable on residential streets first
We're keeping you updated, Arlington! This morning, we began Phase 3 of our storm response, beginning to treat/plow residential streets. Residential streets may only be passable with one lane, and you may not see bare pavement.

Walked around my neighborhood this morning. It’s pretty bad… I saw companies with full groups of people working on the ice and even they looked very frustrated 😵‍💫

Please bear with us. We know you’re still covered in ice. We’re on shift six for storm response. This is going to be slow, I’m so sorry 😣

I am normally a "don't watch the video" person but given the inevitable propaganda spin that is coming, see it with your own eyes at least once so you know just how much they're lying to you.
I watched the video and pretty much everyone is representing it pretty much accurately and I don't think you need to watch it if your takeaway is that a bunch of ICE guys were on top of a dude who they were beating and then one of them decided to shoot him at point blank range for no obvious reason

To repeat: It is highly improbable that I would agree with Bill Kristol.

I agree with him 100%. ICE has become the gestapo. They need to go.

Just saw a Minneapolis protestor yelling at ICE, near shooting site, "We will not forgive you." Correct.
To repeat: Abolish ICE.
