He/Him. Optimist in bleak midwinter.
I turned on Caravan of Courage for a minute this afternoon (or rather, it rolled over from another thing I was watching on D+ while I made dinner).

I think if it had been made as a Rankin Bass style stop-motion special (which is 100% the vibe) it would be way more of a cult favorite oddity.

Acceptable! She absolutely has the right vibe for Amy.
Kristen Bell has been cast as Amy Rose in ‘SONIC 4’.

Really looking forward to picking up my pulls later this week.

Absolute Batman, Muppets Noir, the end of Ultimate Spider-Man. It's been a great time to be into comics.

Hot take:

NeverEnding Story is about a boy escaping to fiction after losing his mom.

Artax in the swamp is sad, the rock biter letting The Nothing take him is sad. That's the point. The world crumbles, but you press on and keep finding hope.

"Fixing" it with AI loses the message.

30 years of Muppet Treasure Island.

I’ve learned since it came out that it wasn’t as universally well received as my own enthusiasm would have had me believe.

Still one of my favorites.

Pirates, Muppets and Tim Curry. What more could you want?

Have they made a minion movie following up on the floating minion from the first Despicable Me?

GOAT is really good!

My only real beef is that I feel like they were given studio notes to really hammer the “dream big” message, and there is definitely the stink of punch-up jokes here and there.

All that said, the movie on the whole is a lot of fun and very very well designed.

I’m halfway through Ella McKay and MAN this is a real nothing of a movie.

Booked my Disney reservation for May 4th.

I know I’ll regret going on that specific day, and I know I’ll complain, and I know it’ll probably rain again.

BUT… I don’t know. Maybe they’ll finally bring back those peanut butter muffins.

Two notes on C.O.P.S.

1) the Cookie Jar logo occupies WAY too much real estate on the DVD cover art.

2) imagine this show, but from the perspective of people protesting against superhuman cyborg police violence.

I miss when there was a ton of social pressure on music acts to not be corporate sellouts.

What happened to our rebellious spirit?

I have wanted to type this into about 20 emails this morning.

Not sure what's going on this month.

Okay, I don't think this is going to have much to do with the comic it's based on, but I'm in. Looks weird and Nic Cage-y and it'll be fun to talk about, I'm sure.

$450k for a 1200 sqft townhouse?

And it's located on a congested road between a shooting range and train tracks, down the road from a cult? Tell me more!

I'm doing tax stuff at work and I hear a group of volunteers having a memorial for a teammate. Out of the solemn conversation I head "HEY!...LISTEN!"

One of these people has a Zelda fairy ringtone. I think our youngest volunteer is 75.

The power of Zelda reaches across generations.

Man, that Doorman episode.

Finally watching Wonder Man.

Trevor and Simon might be the most interesting MCU characters. Can’t believe I slept on this.

My take on this week’s Starfleet Academy is that I’m sad that the comics (which are actually interesting) are probably the only place I’ll ever see Sisko again.

BUT there were reveals in this one that had me close to choking up.

I continue to really like this show. Good Trek! 🤷🏻‍♂️

There’s a manga on the Shonen Jump app that is two chapters in, and I’m feeling really good about, but that means I’ll be really bummed if it can’t deliver on its premise in a satisfying way.

The danger of being an early adopter.

Worked out for me with DanDaDan and Delicious in Dungeon though.

Fell down a Zillow black hole and now it’s 1am and I can’t find the townhouse I was ogling even though it’s nearly 100k outside my range.

If I made what I make now in the 90s, I could have been in such a dope house.

I watched a snowboard big air event, ate lunch to the luge, explained curling to my family while delaying game night, and watched skiing.

Like… I don’t watch sports ever, but I get sucked into these.

Maybe it’s because I live in a subtropical climate and snow is otherworldly to me.

This was the “head-to-head” in a game of Blockbuster I played tonight. The table let me keep rattling off robot movies. It took A WHILE.

Anyway, “Robots”:
B- for story, A on humor, A+ for being ahead of its time with character animation, and extra credit for a wonderful “art of” book.
