Right now, if Best Supporting Actor were up to me:

Benicio del Toro, ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER
Aidan Delbis, BUGONIA
Jacob Elordi, FRANKENSTEIN
Russell Tovey, PLAINCLOTHES
Jeffrey Wright, HIGHEST 2 LOWEST

Jacob Elordi is a revelation in FRANKENSTEIN. The film as a whole is a fine visual spectacle and perfect marriage of filmmaker and material even if the story needed some trimming. But Elordi elevates it to pure greatness as the Creature.

PETER HUJAR'S DAY is a film I'm still stuck between "like" and "love" but is one I still admire. An impressive two-hander that uses a day-long conversation to spotlight life as an artist and New Yorker. Plus, another flawless leading performance from Ben Whishaw.

Because Jennifer Lawrence is the latest star to comment on this topic, I firmly believe both things can be true:

Saying on-set intimacy coordinators should always be mandatory while agreeing actors should have the choice to decide if they need to work with one or not.

BUGONIA mostly thrives on the central performances and the usual scathing satirical bite from Yorgos Lanthimos even as it slowly goes off the rails towards the end. Both Plemons and Stone are in top form as two terrible people on opposite spectrums. Yet, newcomer Aidan Delbis steals the film.

Harsh but illuminating article. Also makes a good point about how A-listers have even more power now to get female-directed films off the ground.

I'm not going to amplify the fucking things, but these anti-Mamdani slop ads Cuomo is putting out there use his likeness and put words in his mouth. If it's not actionable, it should be. It's not illegal it seems, but it should be so illegal. It should be *the most* illegal.

There have been some great horror movies released this year, and good performances in scary movies, but few performances seen this year have gotten under my skin the way Théodore Pellerin in LURKER has.
