ICE detain yet another minor child—chase him down his own street and tackle him to pavement.

"I am legal! I am legal!" he cries over and over in Spanish.

Agent pins the boy down in snow—he desperately tries to keep his exposed hands from freezing at -25°F wind chill temperature.

We shouldn't support businesses here owned by Representatives who believe murdering mothers & kidnapping children is an "effective, durable, and responsible" use of tax dollars.

Portlanders can't vote her out, but they can vote with their dollars & put her out of business: Dean's Car Care in NE.

Once upon a time, I was so excited for this World Cup. Now I hope to see a worldwide boycott.
I genuinely think boycotting the World Cup is some of the strongest leverage the Europeans have.
A German soccer federation executive committee member says it's time to consider a World Cup boycott because of the actions of U.S. President Donald Trump.

Solidarity forever with the people of Minnesota. Folks there are just built different. I had the pleasure of organizing for Bernie there in the winter of 2016 (from an office with no heat 🥶). We won every congressional district. Met so many great people who provided many lessons and inspiration. ✊

Still sick. Have 2 tickets up in the rafters to the Blazers vs Raptors game tonight. If you’re a fan who hasn’t been able to make a game this season, send me a message and the tickets are yours.

PPA, the “most accountable agency in the world” 🙄 should be held accountable for hyperbole.

Many Portlanders have concerns those who enforce our laws don’t hold our values since they don’t live here. Stating the town an officer lives in is not doxing. Not identifying is the same position as ICE.

ICE’s cruelty knows no bounds. Deporting children with cancer. Shooting moms. And now, using a 5 year-old as “bait” to detain his family.

It’s far past clear: ICE must be abolished. Congress should not give it any additional funding. And the people responsible for its crimes should face charges.
"[M]asked agents apprehended 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos in his driveway on Tuesday...[the agent] led him to the door and directed him to knock on the door asking to be let in in order to see if anyone else was home, essentially using a 5-year-old as bait.”

Here for Novick’s idea of building housing on a city owned golf course.

Commissioner Hardesty was very interested in this idea and if she had a second term it might have happened already.

Preschool for All is addressing an affordability crisis head on - providing direct financial relief that is saving families an average of $18,600 per child annually.

As PFA prepares to nearly double in size next school year, soon a tuition-free seat will be available for every child living here.
Poll finds Portlanders highly concerned about affordability but see gains on homelessness and safety
The Portland Metro Chamber's annual survey of registered voters showed affordability concerns have skyrocketed, even as downtown conditions improve.

The audacity of the Oregonian editorial board to come out today and call concerns of racism “trivial.”

The old guard of Portland can’t fall fast enough.

As we condemn the disgusting racism and vitriol from these power players and note who they associate with, it’s also worth noting their influence on local media. For example, so much of @wweek.com criticism of Preschool for All is driven by these same racist actors and organizations.

If calling a state secret police agent a murderer for committing murder will lead to more murder by the state secret police, it sure seems like the problem is with the secret police
Homan: "We gotta stop the hateful rhetoric. Saying this officer is a murderer is dangerous. It's just ridiculous. It's gonna infuriate people more which means there's gonna be more incidents like this."

Spencer Krug of Wolf Parade is one of my favorite musicians. Between his projects Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown, and his solo work I’ve seen him almost 10 times live. Venues have ranged from the Old Church to Holocene to Crystal. It’s wild seeing them blow up for a song released over 20 years ago!
