You’ve got to make the distinction right?
The game I loved most this year is probably also Donkey Kong Bananza, closely followed by South of Midnight, but neither is the best game of the year.

Started playing Dementium recently! One of those DS curios that I remember reading about in ONM, I do really quite miss the era of having a hugely underpowered handheld that devs could make smaller, lower budget games for
Dementium is such a cool series and was way ahead of its time.

Today is my last day at GLHF as Deputy Editor and it's been a wild ride over some four or five years.

Just finished up Dunkadillo, a little 1-2 hour indie game I picked up on a whim for less than £2 on the Switch
Deceptively simple, one button control, but with some really clever level design
A reminder for me tbh that plenty of indies fly under the radar with no PR/marketing

Caught up on the game awards announcements this morning, one of its best years probably! Watching the trailers did make me more thankful that we did finally get Metroid Prime 4 this year. Despite its faults, there really is so little else like it

Rockstar now claims it was, in fact, the leaking of “specific game features from upcoming and unannounced titles” that led to the firings.
We’re going to have to see the company prove this in an employment tribunal & more than that, it’ll need to prove it for all 31 fired employees in the UK too.

I really do hope that Retro gets a chance to give Prime 2 the remastered treatment at some point, its level and world design is simply phenomenal, and it feels like the Prime game that most people probably skipped over
