Are CEOs going to make AI come to the office 3 days a week too?

The amount of “what the fuck” I’ve said in the past 24 hours already surpasses 2025. And 2025 was a high “what the fuck” year.

The number one thing I've been hearing from people in tech lately is, basically, "How the hell am I supposed to work in this industry anymore?" Though most folks are kind of afraid to say it out loud. So I wrote about how to think about it: www.anildash.com/2026/01/05/a...

18 reasons away from 200. Kind of blown away by the response from people so far! Its incredible that this dumb little idea is clearly capturing the vibe of the city - and its not good!

Share this around please! I'd love to hit 200 before the weekend is over.

If you are tired of the Tourism Industrial Complex, whatever that was last night for the New Years Eve event, the fact that we have already had a pedestrian death in 2026, or other issues there is a place you can post your snarky quips and we can all cope together.

Are we sure 2025 is dead? Like maybe we should take it out back and just check?

for the late afternoon crowd - I built iwantyoutostay.com as a way to lament how the people in charge wanted us to stay and give Nashville a chance. Now after 2 years it feels like the city, which had a lot of hope when we elected such people; has actively regressed.

This is my snarky way to cope

did I get inspired by a comment here (as well as being constantly frustrated by this city)? absolutely. Will I be deploying this to a real live web server? maybe.

Drivers. Just drivers.

Police doing fuck all to be "Nashville's Guardians"

Let’s air those grievances. I want to hear your pettiest gripes on this the holiest of days.

hot take maybe they go live just a little too often and it contributes to the unresolved collective storm anxiety of the city.

What are some good neighborhoods to see lights in Nashville? We did the Inglewood/Jinglewood loop and it was fun. It gave me a bit of the Holiday spirit I've been struggling with so I want to see more lights.

Where can we go! Anywhere within lets say an hour or so or downtown?

its pretty much all but officially that we are going to leave Nashville in 2026. Minneapolis was the original target move location, but we have settled on Atlanta, and after last weekend and our little tour of Inman Park we are beyond stoked to make this happen.
