Great thread by a defense attorney on why it takes time to charge someone, especially a LEO, for murder, even when there's such clear evidence.
From a Chicago perspective, CPD Officer Jason van Dyke shot and killed Laquan Mcdonald on 10/20/14 and wasn't found guilty of murder until 10/5/18.
