My unifying theory of everything that’s happening right now is that a not insignificant portion of the population is racist/antisemitic, and they would like other people to stop trying to make them feel bad about that

If there’s one thing MAGA-types like it’s international soccer
let's go down the list of largest cities with Republican mayors and see what our new World Cup landscape looks like

1. Dallas
2. Fort Worth

okay, so, Texas, no surprise here

3. Oklahoma City

look, they do okay with the Thunder I guess, even if they should still be the Sonics

4. Fresno

HBOMax has started showing a 'remastered' 4K Mad Men and they’ve messed things up so during Roger’s oyster vomit scene you can now see the crew men with the vomit hose on the right

Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

Maybe irrational hope and optimism is an essentially human trait that AI will never learn, and that’s the reason prolonged exchanges with AIs always end with the AI descending into nihilism
"Powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4o model by default...tests repeatedly showed that the AI toy dropped its guardrails the longer a conversation went on, until hitting rock bottom on incredibly disturbing topics."

FoloToy says it's suspended sales of its AI-powered teddy bear after researchers found it gave wildly inappropriate and dangerous answers.

I’m trying to recall if there was another time when a republican president overthrew a foreign dictator under false pretenses in order to seize their oil. Can’t put my finger on it though.
Breaking news: High-level discussions over whether to attack Venezuela — and how — have been underway for days.

It remains unclear if President Trump has decided to pursue such an escalation.

Imagine the world we could be living in
Australia has so much electricity from solar power that it is going to start offering free electricity to everyone for at least three hours during the day as the wholesale price of power goes negative

It’s crazy that the press fawned over Trump ending 3000 years of war when that was never even close to the case. Just Lucy with the football over and over again.

This is insanely cool (also, I had that issue of Nintendo Power)
Something really cool at PRGE was the Art of Nintendo Power exhibit, which had some of the clay figures used in the cover photos. Look at this insanely high quality Dr. Wily!

When there’s a big damaging story about Trump, like how he’s planning on stealing hundreds of millions of dollars from the American people, I like to go to National Review to get their take on the most important news of the day
