Into devOps and automation and about how to make dev life easier!
Really impressed with @obsidian.md bases feature where you can mass edit properties across multiple files quickly. So if your workflow needs tweaks, they can be applied without much effort.

PowerShell in CI/CD Pipelines: A Practical Tour of Deployment Options by Blake Cherry, Danny Stutz
Explore the diverse ways to deploy PowerShell scripts using DevOps continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines! This session will investigate the options for running PowerShell in CI/CD processes. We'll start by discussing when and why you might want to incorporate PowerShell into your CI/CD pipelines, highlighting the benefits of automation, consistency, and efficiency in deployment workflows. Next, we'll delve into various methods of deploying PowerShell within pipelines, including: • Locally on Build Agents: Running scripts directly on the pipeline's host machine. • Azure PowerShell DevOps Tasks: Utilizing built-in tasks for seamless integration with Azure services. • Containers and Custom Dockerfiles: Exploring available PowerShell container images, considerations for modules requiring authentication, and best practices for creating custom Dockerfiles tailored to your needs. We'll also compare the capabilities of different CI/CD platforms for running PowerShell, such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and GitLab. We'll discuss: • Platform Differences: How each platform handles PowerShell execution via pipeline. • Selection Criteria: Factors influencing the choice of platform for your specific use case. • Advantages and Limitations: Understanding the strengths of each platform in the context of PowerShell deployment. Additionally, we'll explore how PowerShell can be integrated with other DevOps tools like Terraform and Ansible, discussing key considerations and best practices for these scenarios. By the end of this session, you'll have a comprehensive understanding of the options available for deploying PowerShell via pipelines and how to choose the best approach for your projects. I have come to the realisation that despite having mobile phones, mechanics are unable to detect or read sms messages. They are only reachable if you call their mobile phones directly. Go figure...

I had a "tire kick" at some coding and scripting assistance from the new @anthropic.com Claude 3.7 Sonnet, and I was utterly stunned by the output! Great code suggestions and edits, and it's even proactive in some cases. Very impressed!

At a hockey game this weekend, Canadians loudly booed the US national anthem—and then turned around and proudly sang their own with full-throated joy. The contrast couldn’t have been clearer.

Paid for an expensive car service at Zupps Aspley by eftpos to avoid a cc surcharge. I later found out the pre added the surcharge before you paid! Sigh. Phone call tomorrow. :(

I did not know this! Very cool.
One cool and lesser known feature of #PowerShell is that you can use validation on variables everywhere, not just in param() blocks!

You can prevent this behaviour by adding the [ValidateNotNullOrEmpty()] decorator to the $MyParam variable.

I'm impressed with my @raycast.com stats for the year! I was surprised to see I opened Minecraft that much, as it certainly was not the app I spent the most time in! (Pretty sure!)

When I see someone hate on PowerShell it has, so far, always been because they misunderstand what it can do. That or they hate the syntax. Syntax style is kind of understandable if you prefer terse languages. But when you see the hate, just realize it comes from ignorance more than anything.

If you use Safari to browse many Microsoft Azure resources, resulting in many tabs. You might get a few odd invalid Authentication issues when loading the Azure Portal in a new tab. To fix this, untick the "Prevent cross-site tracking" in Safari settings.
